Kapsch TrafficCom shortlisted for prestigious Zero Project Award 2025
Vienna, Austria, August 29, 2024 – Annotation project by Kapsch TrafficCom AG shortlisted for the renowned Zero Project Award 2025.
Selected from a competitive pool of 522 nominations representing 90 countries, this recognition underscores Kapsch TrafficCom’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive and accessible world through technology and innovation.
Founded by the Essl foundation in 2008, the Zero Project is an initiative dedicated to supporting the rights of persons with disabilities worldwide. Kapsch TrafficCom was recognized for its work in aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD). The annotation project by Kapsch TrafficCom was selected from a competitive pool of more than 500 projects representing 90 countries.
Annotation
The project gives young adults who are at risk of exclusion the opportunity to enter professional life in the field of data annotation and validation, which is crucial for developing AI.
Out of this initiative, Kapsch TrafficCom has successfully established annotation teams in Europe and South America. In addition to that, the Responsible Annotation Association was founded to further support young people with disabilities in the labor market.
Awards to be announced in December
The nomination was reviewed and endorsed by an international panel of disability inclusion experts. Following the announcement of the Zero Project Award nominations, hundreds of experts will vote on the shortlisted nominations, determining the recipients of the Zero Project Award 2025. The final awardees will be revealed on December 3, 2024, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
