Kapsch TrafficCom awarded traffic management in Málaga
- Contract valued at EUR 8.2 million over four years
Málaga, November 13, 2023 – Kapsch TrafficCom has been awarded the contract to manage and operate the Observatorio de la Movilidad viaria de Málaga (Movima) for the next four years.
The contract, valued at EUR 8.2 million, was granted after a competitive bid process, in which Kapsch TrafficCom emerged as the best offer in terms of both quality and price among the seven companies that submitted proposals.

Scope of the maintenance contract
The contract involves the management and operation of Movima, which encompasses the Traffic Management Center and the Control Center for access to the Historic Center, heavy vehicle control, bus lanes, and Low Emission Zone. The main tool for the integration of the various mobility systems that form Movima is the EcoTrafiX™ mobility management suite. The agreement also covers the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of all components within both centers and their software applications.
This extends to the supply and installation of various elements associated with Movima that are located across the city as well as their maintenance, repair and replacement in case of collisions or vandalism. Furthermore, the contract includes operation and maintenance of the new control points and traffic cameras installed as part of the Low Emission Zone.
