The largest sustainable transportation conference and exhibition in the CEE region, the New Mobility Congress, will take place from September 24-26. 2024 at Expo Łódź, Poland.
In a challenging time, high-level politicians, EU and national decision-makers, representatives of central and local administrations (including mayors), diplomats, opinion leaders, major think tanks, academia and market players will meet to discuss all the key political, regulatory, market, technological and social issues affecting the development of sustainable transport in Poland and worldwide.
In Poland, immediate action is needed, especially in cities, as no Polish city meets the World Health Organization (WHO) criteria for air quality. Traffic, which accounts for 25% of urban air pollution, is one of the main causes of the problem. This is becoming an increasingly important issue for local authorities, not only for environmental reasons, but also for public health reasons.
The main source of particulate matter in cities is motorized traffic. Braking and tire wear play a particularly important role, so simply switching to electric vehicles is not the ultimate solution. It's about reducing the traffic load and better distributing the overall demand for mobility.
At the New Mobility Congress, Maciej Zezyk, Kapsch TrafficCom Sales Director Poland, will present successful data-driven traffic management projects that use the growing amount of data already available from multiple sources, analyze it in real time, and provide cities with a clear picture of traffic conditions to help them make smart mobility decisions.
