We have an excellent permanent opportunity based in Sydney for an experienced engineer to join our APAC engineering team. As a Roadside Systems Engineer you will deliver mission critical tolling system infrastructure ensuring the highest levels of availability and performance. You will support the design and planning of new systems and upgrades, and improve existing systems by performing systems analysis, configurations and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • On-site Kapsch Roadside systems hardware and software installation, commissioning, and testing.

  • Systems troubleshooting and analysis to correct deficiencies, improve performance and ensure highest levels of availability.

  • Preparation of technical project documentation and procedures for implementation works.

  • Tracking, managing and reporting issues, internally and externally to Customers.

  • Preparation of operation and system maintenance training materials and execution of operator and system training.

  • Support Customer queries ensuring to always represent Kapsch best interest.

  • Support project activities planning and organizing the roadside system activities and resources on-site.

You are passionate about technology and enjoy learning at a fast pace.

You have a positive 'can do' attitude and possess great troubleshooting skills. You are a self-starter who takes accountability for your assigned tasks and enjoy new challenges. 

You like having a mix of on-site and office work, are safety conscious and thrive working within a team, as well as individually. 

You are willing to develop product and solution knowledge with guidance and formal training provided by Kapsch.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in installation and commissioning of high reliability systems such as transportation, communications systems, video or related fields. 

  • IT competent (Windows, Linux, Microsoft, Networking, Databases).

  • Hands-on and superior fault-finding skills in IT.

  • General knowledge of safety standards.

  • Willing to perform work at heights (training will be provided) and carry out night works installations.

  • Current full Australian driver’s license.
