Kapsch TrafficCom develops smart solutions to make mobility safer, more sustainable and efficient for everybody. We design, build and operate traffic management systems including connected vehicles technology and mobility demand management as well as tolling services for cities, roads, tunnels and bridges around the world. We develop data and video analytics platforms, building on state-of-the-art technologies including AI, machine learning, big data and cloud services to enable the digitalization of mobility.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patent searches and intellectual property checks before development to prevent patent infringement and secure our products' freedom-to-operate. 
  • Competitor Patent Monitoring: Regularly monitor competitor patents to avoid infringements, ensure freedom-to-operate, and identify innovation trends in the market. 
  • IPR Management: Act as a global one-stop-shop service point for development units, enhancing efforts in intellectual property rights (IPR) management. 
  • Market and Technology Research: Perform ongoing market and technology research to stay ahead in the industry. 
  • Patent Searches: Conduct background and prior art patent searches to support development activities. 
  • Patent Application Support: Assist in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, including drafting specifications and preparing reference figures. 
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise during invention evaluation and stimulate patent creation activities. 
  • Portfolio Management: Support the management of our intellectual property portfolio to maximize value and strategic advantage. 

Your Profile: 

  • University Master’s degree with a technical background. 
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience in the field of intelligent transportation systems. 
  • Strong experience in research and development or product and solution management.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills. 
  • Well-developed strategic thinking. 
  • Innovative mindset and approach.  
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel. 
  • Excellent oral and written German and English.
