Kapsch TrafficCom develops smart solutions to make mobility safer, more sustainable and efficient for everybody. We design, build and operate traffic management systems including connected vehicles technology and mobility demand management as well as tolling services for cities, roads, tunnels and bridges around the world. We develop data and video analytics platforms, building on state-of-the-art technologies including AI, machine learning, big data and cloud services to enable the digitalization of mobility.

The Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development team, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to drive project success and enhance customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities

  • Pursue high-quality solutions and ensure both internal and external customers are satisfied with the delivered solutions.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure timely delivery and assisting in solving roadblocks and obstacles that hinder project progress.
  • Implement strategies to increase the contribution margin of projects, as well as apply hands-on technical expertise to guide the development team and address complex challenges.
  • Develop and implement strategies for effective risk management.
  • Motivate and inspire teams to achieve their best performance, fostering a positive and productive work environment and ensuring a seamless flow of information.
  • Encourage a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and improvement within the team.
  • Promote a fearless approach to challenges, showing courage and commitment to achieving goals.
  • Ensure teams adhere to fundamental processes and best practices.
  • Foster cooperation among different departments and teams within the company, ensuring that lessons learned from past projects are effectively utilized to improve future performance.
  • Identify and promote upselling opportunities to enhance customer value.

Your Profile

  •  A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Project management methods and agile delivery
  • Proven experience in a development manager or similar role, with a strong track record of managing successful projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on motivation and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to enhance team interaction and cooperation.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.
  • Experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Committed to continuous learning and improvement, with a curious and proactive mindset.
  • Business communication skills in English and good German skills
